For most of our clients, filing a lawsuit for their car accident case is anxiety inducing. It’s natural to fear the unknown. At Abrenio Law, our philosophy is to face struggles head on. And so long as we’re prepared, we will make it through.
To that end, this post will hopefully answer questions that you likely have about filing your car accident lawsuit. Take some time to watch the video embedded above. In it, James discusses in detail the process of civil litigation here in Virginia.
What is “Written Discovery?”
Also in the video, James discusses “written discovery” that you will receive after you file your law suit. Written discovery, as you will see, is a set of written questions posed to you by the insurance company about your car accident claim. The discovery also requests relevant documents.
Below are links to example discovery requests. While every case is different, this should give you a better understanding of what to expect.
- Defendant’s Interrogatories to Plaintiff
- Defendant’s Request for Production of Documents to Defendant
